More Info

Kevin James: James broke into the film world in 2005 in Columbia Pictures’ Hitch starring opposite Will Smith, but his comedy career started well before that as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom. The King of Queens, which premiered in 1998, ran for nine seasons on CBS with James starring and executive producing, and it garnered him an Emmy nomination in 2006 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show concluded its run in 2007 but continues to air daily in syndication across the country and around the world. In 2001, James brought his stand-up act to TV with Sweat the Small Stuff, a one-hour special for Comedy Central. In 2005 Kevin James and Ray Romano executive produced and starred in the HBO Sports Special Making the Cut: The Road to Pebble Beach; a documentary about the Pebble Beach Pro Am Golf Tournament that was nominated for a Sports Emmy.

In 2009, Kevin James starred in, produced, and co-wrote the box office hit Paul Blart: Mall Cop. Two years later, audiences saw James headlining the MGM feature Zookeeper which he also co-wrote and produced, and starring in Columbia Pictures’ Grown Ups along with Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider; previously James and Sandler worked together on I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007).

in 2012, James wrote, produced, and starred in Here Comes the Boom a passion project that tackled his love of UFC fighting and training, and featured his friend and ex-MMA fighter Bas Rutten. That same year, James re-teamed with Sandler and Spade in the animated Hotel Transylvania, shortly before the release of Grown Ups 2. While fans of his stand-up wait for any hint of his return to the stage, Kevin James can look forward to sequels to both Paul Blart: Mall Cop and Hotel Transylvania as well as an appearance with Sandler in the upcoming video game movie, Pixels.
